Looking for fun ways to celebrating Independence Day in Reading? 🇺🇸


From fairs and festivals to fireworks and family fun — we've found all the best Fourth of July events happening in and around Reading and beyond! 

*Be sure to check local event pages and social media for the latest updates, including cancellations and rain dates*

Plan ahead! These events tend to get busy, so arrive early, pack smart, and enjoy the celebration safely. 

Don't forget to prepare for your pets, children with sensory needs, and anyone you know who may require advance notice of fireworks. A little planning goes a long way in keeping everyone safe and comfortable!


July 2nd

Reading Public Museum Sensory-Friendly Fireworks

  • Softer indoor fireworks, calm visuals, crafts, family-oriented—perfect for kids or those with sensory sensitivities. 

July 3rd

Wyomissing Fireworks Show

  • Near the Wyomissing pool. Street parking anywhere nearby. Show beings at 10pm. *rain date July 7th

Reading Fightin Phils “MEGABLAST” Fireworks

  • 7 PM baseball game vs. Somerset Patriots

FREE Ice Cream to Celebrate Independence Day- by Discovery Federal Credit Union 

  • Way-Har Farms ice cream- Ice cream will be available while supplies last. All are welcome! No membership required. One cone or cup per person.

July 4th

Wyomissing’s Pie-Eating Contest

  • You can pre-register by emailing Randy McKinley at rmckinley@wyomissingboro.org or sign up at the event before the contest begins.

Wyomissing Independence Day Parade and Celebration

  • Parade & Firecracker Fun Run
  • Fun Run 9:30am, Parade 10am, pie eating contest and Wyomissing Library rubber duck race fundraiser to follow at the Stone House 

Ephrata July 4th Community Fun Night

  • Free family activities including: inflatables, jugglers, live music, barrel train rides, face painting, and scratch art
  • 6-8:30pm

July 5th

Governor Mifflin Community Days Spectacular Fireworks Show- Click link for parking and viewing instructions 

  • 10pm- between Cumru Elementary School and The Intermediate School
